‘Rain and you’ was originally sung by actor Park Joong-hoon (박중훈) in the 2006 Korean movie ‘Radio Star’ (라디오 스타).
The song was written and composed by music director Bang Jun-seok (방준석) who was worked on movies such as ‘Join Security Area’ (2000) and the ‘Along with the Gods’ series among many others. Director Bang died in March of 2022 from a chronic illness, making the film ‘Escape from Mogadishu’ (2021) his final work. But his legacy lives on with music like ‘Rain and you.’
Singer Lee Mu-jin (이무진) did a remake of the song as part of the original soundtrack to the Korean drama ‘Hospital Playlist’ (슬기로운 의사생활, 2020-2021) and now-disbanded group Rumble Fish (럼블피쉬) released the song with its female vocalist in 2008. Translated Lyrics to ‘Rain and You’ (비와 당신)
I don’t miss you anymore
I don’t even feel like seeing you again
Even our love is being forgotten
Silently
What I can’t understand is my heart still
Tears up when it rains
When you left me a long time ago
Like that day
I’m fine now, I turned my back on this thing called love
But why do I cry like a fool
Faded memories are starting to dim
How overwhelming that can be
You’re someone I hate but I’m still
Missing you
I’m fine now, I turned my back on this thing called love
But why do I cry like a fool
We’ll never meet again, I hate myself for not forgetting you
How long would I hurt like this
